"Mahogany Sideboard, England - Early Twentieth"
This sideboard in solid and veneered mahogany opens with two doors with molded frames. They are darkened with panels with oblong marquetry of a more sustained hue. The edges, which are lighter, are laid out with a miter cut. These openings, like the uprights, are inlaid with lemon tree fillets. The left door locks with a clasp, while the right has a functional original lock with its key and an openwork brass entry. The interior of the doors is flush. This sideboard has a good volume, accessible, composed of two shelves on racks, offering three levels of adjustable storage. In the lower part, we find a projecting plinth with moldings on the edge. The top of this piece of furniture is formed by two well-joined boards, without a composite filling element. The edge of the fillet has a small strip of cross veneer, embellished with a slight groove and a small beak of corbin. The back and bottom are solid mahogany. This English furniture stands out for its refinement and sobriety. It will suit any type of interior, both classic and modern.
