Middle Table, Napoleon III Period - Mid 19th Century

Game table forming a console in blackened pear veneer with inlays of brass nets dressed in bronzes. This Napoleon III piece of furniture in an eventful shape has a curved front and sides, decorated with gilt bronze fittings, representing large masks surrounded by ivy and scrolls. This table rests on four very arched legs accompanied by large bronze falls with childish faces. These hug the bump of each foot, continuing with an edging formed by a brass rod on the ridge. The feet end in bronze clogs. The downward cut-out front crosspiece is profiled with the feet. The facades and each side are dressed in gadrooned and embossed gilt bronze rods. The center is inlaid with brass nets, following the shapes of the bronze rods. The top marries the low structure. The top, dressed in a chiseled bronze molding, has parallel inlaid brass threads, taking up the shapes of the table whose angles are jagged. The tray opens on a green felt in perfect condition, surrounded by inlaid brass nets. It pivots to stabilize itself and we then discover an interior mahogany storage space. The refinement and the wonderful combination of gilded bronze and blackened wood make this Napoleon III table a precious piece of furniture that will find a place of choice in your interior.
