"Console In Solid Mahogany And Sainte-anne Marble, Napoleon III Period - Mid-19th Century"
Napoleon III period console in solid mahogany and moiré mahogany veneer, surmounted by an original Sainte-Anne marble. This piece of furniture with front and sides with movements, opens in belt by a drawer underlined on its underside by a half-round molding making the circumference. The interior of the drawer is mahogany and fitted with stops. This console rests at the front on two arched legs with an upward volute. This one is decorated with a rosary of flowers. Its feet are knockout and molded. They taper down and end in a volute with an acanthus leaf going up. The back legs are simply cut out. These rest on a base with movement identical to the top, the periphery of which is molded in the throat. The whole rests at the front on two small, slightly molded circular feet. Halfway up, we find, embedded in the four legs, a moving shelf whose perimeter is molded with a double half-round. The top is topped with an original anthracite and white marble, called Sainte-Anne, matching the shape of the console. We find a molding identical to the tablet. You will be charmed by the curves and sculptures of this console, magnified by the warm shades of mahogany.
