This beautiful oil on canvas is ready to hang. It is in very good condition, with some minimal traces of time, almost nothing. The paint is nicely cracked. It is signed lower right E. Hareux. You can read on the frame on the back: Pic et lac de Pétarel Valgaudémar by Ernest Hareux. The original frame has some small gaps and traces of time. Two old restorations are visible on the back (photo with blue arrows). They hardly see each other face to face. Ernest Hareux (1847-1909) is a well-known and highly rated artist. A great friend of Abbé Guétal, he likes to paint darkness, twilight, and also sharp oppositions, as here, between shadows and light. Dimensions with its frame: 64 x 47 cm.
