DRAWING and ENGRAVING representing Camille Desmoulins at the Royal Palace during the famous day of July 12, 1789.
Pencil drawing on paper. Bears the mention in the pen "Prieur inv. del.", "Motion made at the Royal Palace, by Camille Desmoulins. July 12, 1789" 
This day, in the gardens of the Palais Royal, Camille Desmoulins harangues and encourages the crowd to rise up and march towards the Bastille fortress which will fall on July 14, 1789.
The sizes of the drawing and the engraving are identical: length 23.5 cm, width 17.5 cm.
Engraving made by the sculptor Pierre-Gabriel Berthault. Note that a similar copy is kept at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris. It is inventoried under the number "G.27679".
