Object description :

"Old Persian Tabriz Rug, 142 X 191 Cm, Persia, Kadjar Dynasty, Second Half Of The 19th Century"
Old Tabriz of high quality, sold with its old certificate of sale (see photos).
Decoration of a large medallion on a brick background whose soft and fine wool that composes it offers us an ordered palette of magnificent colors causing a striking contrast, accompanied by two large pendants.
The set is surrounded by four large flowery spandrels, blue and curry.
This toise rug, 142 cm wide by 191 cm long, is in very good condition, the fringes are short, the edges in perfect condition, the pile impeccable.
Carpet from the second half of the 19th century, with medallion and stylized flowers.
A large border accompanied by wide counter-borders is adorned with very beautiful colors, interlacing and very fine flower decorations For carpets as for Islamic art "The artist saw flowers in nature and did not represent them as they were. what are, it is God who created them so the artist stylized them because only God has perfection".
And this is almost valid for each representation, floral or animal.
The artist must therefore work in the abstract.
(Tabriz (Azeri: Təbriz/ تبریز, formerly Tauris), is the capital of the province of East Azerbaijan, in the northwest of Iran (Iranian Azerbaijan).
It lies on the course of the Talkheh River (also called Aji-Chāi), near Lake Urmia, close to the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.) Tabriz is the gateway to Persia from north to west, Tabriz rugs have an extreme importance in the quality of Persian rugs.
The Tabriz are among the most popular carpets in the world, their work is always very fine and durable over time.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned.
