Grand Tour Cameo Late 18th / Early 19th Century
Very good quality cameo, probably in white agate, representing a vestal virgin in an antique style. Made at the end of the 18th or the beginning of the 19th century, it could be a souvenir of the Grand Tour. The cameo is applied to a background that appears to be amber. It is very well preserved apart from two small égrenures on the edges, which would be invisible if it were mounted as a pendant for example, with a metal strapping. Dimensions; 3x2cm
