"Small Living Room Table In Walnut, Restoration Period - Early Nineteenth"
Charming little coffee table from the Restoration period, subtly enhanced by the shades of Walnut. The top is made up of 4 elements of heart walnut veneer, a technique known as “à Quatre Feuilles”. The belt opens in front by 2 drawers, spaced out by a half-round wooden stick. Their front faces are made of falling and following wire veneer. They are locked using keys, which come with the original locks in perfect working order. The interior of the first has 2 large and 2 small compartments, as well as a large central space. The second not being compartmentalized, it offers a more consequent possibility of storage. On each side and at the back of the belt, we find the extension of the half-round wooden strip previously mentioned, which comes to separate 2 parts in walnut veneer. The set rests on legs in the shape of a "Lyre", made up of 2 elements in solid walnut with scrolls which meet, ending in an elegant cutout. A slight shaping of free scrolls embellishes the lower part of the base, which is itself reinforced by a spacer, offering robustness and stability to this furniture. Functional and harmonious, this small table will seduce you with its neat finish and contrasting walnut grain.
