"Torchiere Holder In Gilded Wood, Regency Period, 18th Century"
Important and exceptional torchiere holder in richly carved gilded wood, representing a cherub carrying in his right hand a torchiere decorated with acanthus leaves and its tray. It rests on a tripod base decorated with flowers, flat shells, acanthus leaves, scrolls and angel heads. The original gilding has a beautiful patina and a very beautiful shine that has been preserved to this day. Of Provençal origin, from one of the most remarkable private hotels in Aix. It dates from the Regency period around 1720, at the very beginning of the 18th century. Private collection, always remained in the same family. In fairly good condition (missing part of the right hand of the cherub and small gaps in the gilding). Dimensions: h.165 cm.
