"Large Figure Vase, 90 Cm, Satsuma, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912)"
A large ceramic vase from Satsuma. On one side of the vase are depicted scenes with a dragon and various figures, probably Arhats, the goddess Kannon, children, warriors, etc. On the other side, we can see children, sages with fans, scrolls and probably a Japanese emperor. Various intricately painted ornamental friezes surround the figurative scenes. Satsuma, Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912). Apocryphal signature: Chenghua? Height 90 cm, diameter 35 cm. State of conservation as seen in the photographs, sticking of several elements at the level of the upper edge, chipping and hairline crack at the level of the lower edge.
