Object description :

"Miniature 18th"
Round-shaped miniature painted with gouache, representing a three-quarter length man; he is dressed in a dark coat revealing the jacket with a high collar and orange lapels embellished with a white scarf with draped scholars extending by a jabot of fine lace. His bearing of the head is elegant and dignified, the dark look, the somewhat thick chin, the small mouth with thin lips; her hair is powdered and ends in neat rolls. This is the presumed portrait of Adhémar H. de la Condamine (annotated on the reverse on the bronze frame), a great family of the nobility. Very fine achievement on a nuanced gray background. D: 6.5cm Good condition of the miniature; a small superficial and inconspicuous chip on the glass, lower right.
