"Bergere Louis XV Period, Velvet Fabric, XVIII Eme Period"
Elegant and comfortable Louis XV shepherdess, 18th century. Our shepherdess rests on four arched feet pleasantly carved with moldings and windings. The backrest of the seat is fiddle-shaped, it is extended by armrests taking a slightly rounded shape, thus ensuring a comfortable and enveloping seat. This bergere has a thick cushion filled with down to perfect the comfort of the seat. The woodwork is in very good condition. The refinement of this armchair lies in the sobriety of the sculptures not encumbered with flowers etc...as it is more common to see on this type of seat. Only the arches enhanced with eventful moldings give all its charm to this wing chair. The covering fabric is anise green velvet and in good condition. However, the velvet is in several places "glossed" by the friction of the fabric related to the use of the seat (see photos). Superb patina.
