a very beautiful perfume burner or pot pourri from the Napoleon III period representing a crouching devil supporting a large glass lantern on his shoulders, the latter forming a night light, pot pourri or perfume burner.
the devil's tail wraps around a bucket forming pyrogen.
it rests on a black marble base.
very beautiful sustained patina.
the devil is superb and has large horns.
rare to come across intact as the glass lantern sometimes exploded due to the heat, this is the first time I have seen it intact and complete.
a very beautiful bronze from the Napoleon III period.
