"Mahogany Dressing Table, Louis XVI Period - Eighteenth"
Dressing table in solid and veneered mahogany whose interior is dark with a mercury mirror and a white Carrara marble basin, slightly veined anthracite gray. This piece of furniture is made up of two double-fronted drawers on each side – thus allowing greater depth – and in the center of a wider and shallower drawer. These elements are provided with locks in perfect working order, accompanied by their keys, and trimmed with embossed mesh entries, all original. In the upper part, a key activates an equally authentic double hook lock allowing the top to be closed. The latter is composed of a molded mitred frame with a thin groove at the edge. This flap is equipped with two brass hinges and is held in the open position using two brass compasses called "knee". The whole rests on four solid mahogany legs, quarter-round in the upper part and each furnished with five grooves. This continuous base in a turned and tapered way, with stopped grooves, and ends in brass shoes. This dressing table can be in the middle because it is visible from all sides. It will fit into your home with its timeless style.
