"Small Showcase Commode In Mahogany And Violet Wood, Louis XV Style - Late Nineteenth"
Elegant showcase chest of drawers composed of two drawers with curved fronts, in mahogany veneer and kingwood with inlays representing foliage, flowers, foliage and scrolls. They are equipped with bronze entrances and functional locks, all original. The upper part consists of windows surrounded by brass rods on the front, sides and top. The latter, with a turbulent kingwood frame, opens onto a presentation space in authentic old rose-coloured fabric. This flap is equipped with a so-called "hook" lock, also original. The uprights, slightly curved, are dressed in a bronze fall at the top and end at the bottom of the feet with a bronze shoe. A motif of this same alloy adorns the crosspiece in its center. The sides of this furniture are slightly bulbous and widen towards the back. They are composed of the same marquetry as the front face. The interiors of the drawers as well as the back of the cabinet are in solid oak. Graceful and refined, this small chest of drawers will delight you with the finesse of its ornamentation.
