The Mennecy (or Mennecy-Villeroy) factory, located in Essonne, produced quality soft porcelain during the second half of the 18th century. To circumvent the monopoly of Sèvres, the factory will benefit from the protection of Louis François Anne de Neuville, Duke of Villeroy. Its production consists of many small objects such as toilet boxes and pots, bottles, characters, chests of drawers, buttons, perfume burners, etc. There are also cups and saucers, teapots, sugar bowls. Note that the service pieces of the table and the plates are extremely rare. As early as 1751, the first biscuit statuettes appeared. We find in particular the very famous and delicate statuettes in rose of Mennecy, the groups of children, the characters of the comedy del Arte,... The figurines after Boucher produced from 1760 are of very high quality.
