Lucien Gros (1845-1913). Born in Bas-Rhin, Lucien Gros studied with Ernest Meissonier, who is also the father of his best friend. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1865 to 1882. He obtained a medal in 1867. He began his career by painting historical scenes, then around 1880, he turned to Brittany and painted scenes illustrating the life of seafarers.
