Old Oil Painting On Canvas Naples 18th Century. flag

Object description :

"Old Oil Painting On Canvas Naples 18th Century."
Old oil on canvas painting representing The Adoration of the Magi, a favorite theme of ancient painting which is based on traditional iconography, where the three sumptuously dressed kings are represented in front of the figures of the Holy Family, placed on the left of the composition. The eldest, kneeling in adoration of the Child kissing his foot, has already laid the gift at the feet of the Virgin, while the second and third await their moment to honor the sacred event, their precious gifts still between their hands. . The composition is very versatile and intelligently calibrated in the colors, especially in these continuous contrasts between the very light parts and the slightly darker parts. As a perspective background, there are two clouds with cherubim observing the sacred event. Condition: Excellent condition. Measures: 91x115cm. Provenance: Naples 18th century.
