"Walnut Inlaid Crossbow Commode 18th"
Beautiful crossbow-shaped curve for this chest of drawers from the 18th century inlaid with a decoration of crimps, of a single species of wood. Walnut is used here, playing on the different veining, alternating between grain wood and grainy wood. Top and sides are decorated with mirror. The frame is in resinous, the drawers are assembled with dovetails, with a particularity for the front of the drawers whose frontage overflows on the dovetails. The crossbow design of the drawers is very neat, all in roundness, the edge of the top is in end grain wood, a technique used along the Rhine, the wood is cut in the opposite direction of the grain and the small pieces are placed side by side. side by side to create a beautiful marbling effect.
