Object description :

"Mira Takla. "
Mira Takla. "Valley of the Kings" perfume. Unique collection from the house of Serge Mansau, creator of all the bottles of this perfume. This set was acquired during one of the three auctions (that of April 10, 2022) organized after his death. It consists of nine bottles inspired by Egyptomania, three resin pyramids with their miniature bottles and the press kit. Three of the four 30ml bottles contain perfume. One of the four models has its box. The three small pyramids have their prototype, one has its box. Two prototypes contain perfume concentrate (1/3 of the bottle in one and 1/2 of the bottle in the other). The other bottles are empty and probably never contained perfume. The press kit, presentation, was designed with reference to the papyrus. The set is in very good condition. The press kit and the pyramids are exceptional pieces The containers were made by the greatest contemporary creator of perfume bottles. Serge Mansau has worked for all the major perfume brands. He has also made one-of-a-kind bottles. In other registers, he worked as a designer for Baccarat, Saint Louis, Daum, etc. He was also a sculptor. It was him that Mira Takla had chosen for her exceptional perfume. This one is unfortunately rare because of its short existence following the tragedy associated with it. After being put on sale in 1988 exclusively at Harrod's in London and at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Mira takla organized a grand launch in 1990 at the Heliopolis Sheraton hotel in Cairo. She had invited renowned people, particularly in the field of luxury, fashion and perfume. The festivities were to take place over several days. However, on the first evening, a fire broke out with the death toll at 19 and 70 injured. This was the setback for this perfume made from deciphered formulas of Egyptian hieroglyphs.
