He began his studies of architecture in Paris but gave up and turned to ceramics in 1952. He moved to Dieulefit in the Drôme and launched a utility production then a more sculptural production. He relaunches the Poêt-Laval factory. It was around 1960 that his production became abstract, both for his sculptures and his decorations for dishes. He will end his career with a high quality abstract pictorial production.
In 1965, he participated in the International Exhibition of Contemporary Ceramics at the Cantini Museum in Marseille and the first biennial in Vallauris in 1968.
