This memorial evocation bears the letters (T.NZ.BH) in Hebrew as an indication which refer to the biblical verse: May their souls be attached to the bundle of the living. Sheltered by an unfurled tallit is a heap of stones rising skyward. These stones and the red flames that emanate from them seem to cry out to the sky where God is represented in the form of a radiant semi-circle. These red flames could also evoke those of the burning bush. Jean Michel Terrier, who received the Neumann Prize from the city of Paris in 1981, invites us on a dreamlike journey inspired by the Bible and the Kabbalah. Works by this artist are kept at the Museum of Jewish Art and History.
