JC Delafosse, architect and designer and engraver of ornaments, was approved by the Academy of Bordeaux since 1781, where he exhibited drawings at the Salon. His main works are 4 large series of engravings of decorative motifs, among others: "New Historical Iconology or Hieroglyphic Attributes" (108 fol.), "Decorations, Sculptures, Goldwork and Various Ornaments" (24 fol.), "Furniture". In smaller series, we find models and designs of all kinds for emblems, trophies, facades, portals, fireplaces, tombs, furniture, church utensils, clocks, models of goldwork, etc., drawn with skill and enthusiasm.
