Object description :

"Brazilian Naive Art: Nunciata (born In 1927), Poetic And Utopian Landscape, Outsider Art From Brazil"
A very poetic canvas by Nunciata di Stefano, a Brazilian artist born in Sao Paulo in 1926. A self-taught naive painter, she began painting in 1971. Just like Haiti, Brazil has a great tradition of naive painting. Or rather, as L'Express writes about the recent exhibition at the Lodève museum "The "naïves" in Brazil, an art on the margins": "they are artists" whose common point would rather be to be autodidacts from popular culture who formed themselves on the fringes of an official art inherited from colonialism". Nunciata is referenced in “Les Paradis et les naifs” by Max Fourny (Paris, 1983) and “L'Arbre and the Naifs" by Max Fourny (Paris 1990). She exhibited in Brazil, the United Kingdom and in France. Our painting is signed and titled "o outono chegou" (autumn has arrived ) and dated 1987.
