"Bronze Font By Philippe Caffieri, 18th Century"

Bronze stoup whose shell represents the Face of Christ in the round. The cross on which Jesus is crucified is accompanied by two angels. On the reverse of the stoup the 2 parts bear the mark of Philippe Caffieri: crowned PC. The basin of the stoup (the cover of which is missing) is attached to the cross by a rivet. Christ was cast independently of the cross.
