If François Guéneau combines several passions through his art: sculpture, ceramics and pastel painting, he is above all a striking figure recognized for his contemporary ceramics in stoneware or porcelain. In 1958, he began an apprenticeship as a ceramist in a free workshop. Then he followed the teaching of the sculptor Philolaos. A meeting that will influence his artistic vision! In 1961, in the Yonne department, he created his own workshop near Annay-sur-Serein, then in 1982 his own gallery in Noyers-sur-Serein. From 1963, he exhibited his work in various galleries and fairs including the Salon des Ateliers d'Art (SAA from 1965 to 1983), which allowed him to distribute his pieces. Exhibitions follow one another in France and internationally (Germany, Canada, Italy, Switzerland). Like Pierre Lèbe, Yves Mohy, Solange Garotte, or Jacques Buccholtz, in 1971 François Guéneau participated in the adventure of the Virebent factory (Lot) to launch a line of artistic products. Two years later, he renewed the experience by creating a line of industrial porcelain for Porcelaine d'Auteuil. (Source Art-Angelux.com)
