"Obon Japanese Lacquered Footed Tray Family Crest Decor - Japan"
Tray on a foot in carved and red lacquered wood with decorations of "my" Japanese family crest and arabesques on the foot. The decorations are of a very beautiful quality in gold makie lacquer. Small defects are to be noted, traces of wear are visible on the foot, a fine crack at the level of the insertion of the foot under the cup and the tray which is very slightly warped. But nothing that takes away from the beauty of this piece remaining perfectly usable as a fruit bowl. Japan, Meiji era, 29 x 26.5 cm. With its original box signed by the artist.
