NADAL Jean-Michel Jean-Michel Nadal (1734 - February 22, 1800) Known as Nadal the younger, brother of Jean-René Nadal, carpenter, obtained his master's letters on February 6, 1765. He lived on rue de Cléry. Some of the Transition chairs made by this craftsman are of remarkable quality. Jean-Michel NADAL, known as the younger, son of Jean and brother of Jean-Rene NADAL, was established on rue de Cléry, probably in his father's workshop, with his brother until the latter created his own workshop. Like most families of craftsmen, the stamps are often difficult to define, but given the date of obtaining his mastery in 1765, we can attribute to him, without too much hesitation, the chairs in the style of the end of the reign of Louis XV. His works are of remarkable quality. We can mention a very rare set of fourteen pieces, of curved shape and neoclassical decoration, from the Aveline collection. Jean-Michel NADAL seems to have remained active until his death in 1800.
