"Gilded Bronze & Steel Blue Empire Style Chandelier "
A gilt bronze Empire style chandelier. The dome-shaped central part is steel blue, decorated with two circles of gilded stars — evoking the heavens and the night by analogy with the object's function — and a pinecone finial. Its eight arms take the form of coiled acanthus leaves. The ceiling rose is decorated with seven large acanthus leaves to which the four chains are attached.Ca. 1950
