Orazio di Domenico Alfani, San Pietro liberato dal carcere da un angelo, affresco, Basilica di S. Pietro, Perugia, circa 1550
Here only attributed as Orazio's graphic production is unknown apart from a drawing currently preserved in the offices (INV. 93 55 S). The drawing appears to be one of the last compositional studies for the fresco, at a time when Orazio was not yet applying the deep two-plane perspective that would be chosen for the final work. Very good overall condition for a drawing probably produced between 1545 and 1550. Probably restored in the 17th century, with white gouache added at the same time.
