Very rare matchbox with a hidden photo frame.

The matchbox is rectangular with rounded edges. It is made of plain silver with a number engraved on the front: LR (?).

The scraper is under the lower edge.

The hinged lid reveals two compartments for matches.
Once opened, the front tilts to reveal a photo frame. The interior of this compartment is silver-gilt.

The frame still contains a photo of a charming little girl.

The matchbox is hallmarked:

. Poorly struck silversmith's mark ending in a C
