"Brass Snuffbox, 18th Century"
Dutch brass snuffbox decorated with engravings and texts. Classic, this snuffbox amuses with its engravings and a text in Flemish that only the Dutch will understand... the subtlety of the legends escapes me but the inventiveness of the themes shows the talent of a beautiful folk art. There is a small defect to the hinge which however works, and wear on the bottom due to use but the general condition is well preserved. Period 18th century.
