Alexandre Evariste Fragonard received the teaching of his father Jean Honoré Fragonard before entering the workshop of David.
He was recognized as a painter of History and painted many troubadour subjects.
This study depicts a woman sitting on a rock that looks away, the line is fast and light. The sheet is glued on a cardboard support, a few wettings.
There are some repentances in the design of the left arm and in the contour of the thighs.
