Le «Theatrum Statuum Sabaudiae» est une collection de dessins gravés représentant les lieux qui faisaient partie de la domination de la Savoie à la fin du XVIIe siècle.
Entreprise éditoriale et initiative promotionnelle sans précédent, le Theatrum Statuum Regiae Celsitudinis Sabaudiae Ducis, Pedemontii Principis, Cypri Regis était le résultat du projet ambitieux entrepris par le duc Carlo Emanuele II de Savoia au cours des années soixante du XVIIe siècle et durant 8 ans sous le patronage de la duchesse régent Maria Giovanna Battista di Savoia de Nemours. L’œuvre a été imprimée exactement en 1682 à Amsterdam, chez l’éditeur et cartographe Joan Blaeu.La publication est certainement née comme un manifeste politique du duc de Savoie, destiné à faire connaître aux communautés et aux tribunaux européens le niveau atteint par ses biens.Les épreuves sont d’une qualité remarquable imprimées sur grand papier et d’une parfaite impression.

An unprecedented editorial enterprise and promotional initiative, the Theatrum Statuum Regiae Celsitudinis Sabaudiae Ducis, Pedemontii Principis, Cypri Regis was the result of the ambitious project undertaken by Duke Carlo Emanuele II of Savoia during the sixties of the seventeenth century and for 8 years under the patronage of the Regent Duchess Maria Giovanna Battista di Savoia of Nemours. The work was printed exactly in 1682 in Amsterdam, by the publisher and cartographer Joan Blaeu. The publication was certainly born as a political manifesto of the Duke of Savoy, intended to make known to the European communities and courts the level reached by his goods. The proofs are of remarkable quality printed on large paper and of perfect printing.
