Jean-René, known as Nadal the elder, master in Paris on September 22, 1756, he settled in rue de Cléry, at the Lion d'argent, and led his company with a brilliant activity. Under Louis XVI, he executed works for the furniture of the Crown. His talents were also employed by the Count of Artois, who asked him for seats in the antique style and several bed-woods, with imperial voussures, intended for the prieural palace of the Temple and the castle of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
